Shipping policy

Shipping and Delivery Policy

Blakmint Ltd — United Kingdom
Last updated: 20 July 2026

This Shipping and Delivery Policy applies to orders placed through the Blakmint online store.

It should be read alongside our:

  • Terms and Conditions
  • Returns and Refund Policy
  • Privacy Policy

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

1. Delivery area

Blakmint currently delivers only to addresses within the United Kingdom.

We do not currently offer international delivery through this website because our regulated products are presently supplied for the UK market only.

Orders placed for delivery outside the areas we serve may be cancelled and refunded.

2. Delivery services

We use Royal Mail to deliver orders.

Most Blakmint orders

Most orders are normally sent using:

Royal Mail Tracked 48

This includes orders containing:

  • liquid retainer cleaner;
  • retainer cleaning and storage cases;
  • retainer removal tools;
  • aligner chewies;
  • kits;
  • bundles; and
  • a retainer brush purchased with another product.

Royal Mail Tracked 48 includes tracking to the delivery point, a delivery photograph and email or SMS notifications where available. Royal Mail currently aims to deliver Tracked 48 items within two to three working days after dispatch, although this is not a guaranteed delivery service.

Retainer brush purchased on its own

A retainer cleaning brush purchased by itself is normally sent using:

Royal Mail 2nd Class

Royal Mail 2nd Class is an untracked service. Royal Mail currently aims to deliver 2nd Class items within three working days.

A postage reference may be supplied, but it may not provide full end-to-end tracking or a live delivery location.

Orders containing a brush and another product

Where a retainer brush is ordered with another Blakmint product, the complete order will normally be sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48.

3. Delivery charges

The delivery charge applicable to your order will be shown at checkout before payment is completed.

Any free-delivery threshold or promotional delivery offer applies only where it is clearly displayed on the website or at checkout.

We may update delivery charges from time to time. Changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted.

4. Order processing and dispatch

Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within:

[I1–2 WORKING DAYS]

Working days do not normally include weekends or UK bank holidays.

Orders placed during weekends or bank holidays will normally begin processing on the next working day.

The dispatch period is separate from Royal Mail’s estimated delivery period.

We may require additional time where:

  • an order contains several products;
  • an address requires clarification;
  • payment or fraud checks are needed;
  • there is unusually high demand;
  • a product is temporarily unavailable; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control affect dispatch.

If a significant dispatch delay occurs, we will contact you using the details provided with your order.

5. Dispatch confirmation

Once your order has been dispatched, we will normally send a dispatch-confirmation email.

Tracked 48 orders

For Royal Mail Tracked 48 orders, the email should include a tracking reference.

Tracking information may not become active immediately. It may take time for Royal Mail to scan the parcel into its network.

2nd Class brush orders

For a brush sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class, full tracking is not available.

We may provide a postage reference or confirmation of dispatch, but that reference may show limited information only.

Please ensure that the email address and mobile number provided at checkout are correct.

6. Estimated delivery times

Following dispatch, the normal Royal Mail delivery aims are:

  • Royal Mail Tracked 48: approximately two to three working days.
  • Royal Mail 2nd Class: within approximately three working days.

These are delivery aims only and are not guarantees.

Delivery may take longer because of:

  • bank holidays;
  • local delivery disruption;
  • severe weather;
  • industrial action;
  • unusually high parcel volumes;
  • incorrect or incomplete addresses;
  • security or customs checks affecting certain UK territories;
  • remote delivery locations; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Unless a different delivery period has been agreed with you, UK distance-selling rules require goods to be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being made.

7. Delivery addresses

You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address entered at checkout is complete and accurate.

Please check:

  • the recipient’s name;
  • house number or building name;
  • street;
  • flat or unit number;
  • town or city;
  • postcode; and
  • any necessary delivery instructions.

Contact us immediately at admin@blakmint.co.uk if you notice an error.

We cannot guarantee that an address can be amended after an order has entered processing or been dispatched.

8. Incorrect or incomplete addresses

If an order cannot be delivered because the customer supplied an incorrect or incomplete address, it may be returned to Blakmint.

Once the parcel is returned, we may:

  • arrange redelivery after the customer pays the reasonable additional postage cost; or
  • process an eligible refund in accordance with our Returns and Refund Policy.

Original delivery charges and return-to-sender costs may be deducted where legally permitted and where the delivery failure resulted from incorrect information supplied by the customer.

This does not apply where the error was caused by Blakmint.

9. Safe places, neighbours and delivery preferences

Royal Mail may allow a customer to nominate:

  • a safe place;
  • a neighbour;
  • an alternative delivery date; or
  • another available delivery preference.

Where the customer independently selects or changes a delivery preference through Royal Mail, they should ensure that the selected location is safe and suitable.

Royal Mail Tracked services may display a delivery photograph and GPS-confirmed delivery information where available.

Nothing in this section removes Blakmint’s legal responsibility for goods while they remain in transit.

10. Risk during delivery

Goods remain at Blakmint’s risk until they come into:

  • your physical possession; or
  • the physical possession of a person you identified to receive them.

This means that Blakmint, rather than the customer, is normally responsible for investigating an outbound parcel that is lost before delivery.

Where you independently arrange for a carrier that was not offered by Blakmint to collect the goods, different risk rules may apply.

11. Delayed orders

If your order has not arrived within the expected delivery period, please:

  1. check the delivery address shown in your order confirmation;
  2. check the Royal Mail tracking information, where available;
  3. check with other members of your household;
  4. check any nominated safe place;
  5. check with nearby neighbours where appropriate; and
  6. contact us at admin@blakmint.co.uk.

Please include your:

  • name;
  • order number;
  • delivery address; and
  • tracking number, where available.

Delivery being later than Royal Mail’s delivery aim does not automatically mean that the parcel has been lost.

12. Missing Tracked 48 orders

If a Royal Mail Tracked 48 order appears to be missing, contact Blakmint rather than making a compensation claim directly against Royal Mail.

We will review the available tracking information and may ask you to confirm:

  • whether anyone else accepted the parcel;
  • whether a safe place was selected;
  • whether neighbours were checked;
  • whether the delivery photograph shows your property;
  • whether the delivery location shown by Royal Mail is correct; and
  • whether your delivery address was entered accurately.

Royal Mail advises that Tracked 48 items are normally treated as potentially lost only after the relevant waiting period has passed.

Where the available evidence reasonably shows that the parcel has been lost or was not delivered, we will provide the appropriate replacement or refund.

13. Missing 2nd Class brush orders

A brush sent using Royal Mail 2nd Class will not have full tracking.

If the brush has not arrived within the expected period, contact us at admin@blakmint.co.uk.

We may ask you to confirm:

  • the complete delivery address;
  • whether anyone else at the property received it;
  • whether it was delivered with other post;
  • whether neighbours were checked; and
  • whether any delivery card was left.

Royal Mail requires a set period to pass before a 2nd Class item can be treated as lost. We will make any necessary Royal Mail enquiry or compensation claim as the sender.

The absence of tracking does not remove your statutory rights.

14. Orders shown as delivered

If Royal Mail shows a Tracked 48 order as delivered but you cannot locate it, contact us promptly.

We may review:

  • the delivery photograph;
  • GPS or delivery-point information;
  • the time of delivery;
  • the nominated safe place;
  • whether a neighbour accepted it;
  • Royal Mail’s tracking records; and
  • information from the local delivery office.

Royal Mail itself recommends checking with household members, neighbours and any nominated safe place where an item is shown as delivered.

A delivered tracking status will be considered as evidence, but it does not prevent us from investigating a genuine non-delivery report.

15. Damaged parcels or products

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If the parcel or product arrives damaged, contact us at:

admin@blakmint.co.uk

Please provide:

  • your name;
  • order number;
  • a description of the damage;
  • photographs of the outer packaging;
  • photographs of the inner packaging;
  • photographs of the damaged product;
  • a photograph of the Royal Mail label; and
  • the batch or lot number, where relevant.

Please retain the damaged item and all packaging until we confirm whether they are required for investigation.

Do not use a product that appears damaged, contaminated, leaking or unsafe.

Your rights concerning faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods are explained in our Returns and Refund Policy.

16. Failed delivery attempts

Where Royal Mail cannot complete delivery, it may:

  • attempt delivery again;
  • leave the parcel in an authorised safe place;
  • deliver it to a neighbour;
  • hold it for collection;
  • allow the customer to arrange redelivery; or
  • return it to Blakmint.

Customers should follow any instructions provided by Royal Mail.

17. Uncollected parcels

If a parcel is not collected within Royal Mail’s collection period, it may be returned to Blakmint.

Once received, we may offer:

  • redelivery, subject to payment of a reasonable additional delivery charge; or
  • an eligible refund under our Returns and Refund Policy.

Simply failing to collect a parcel does not necessarily amount to clear notice that you are cancelling the contract.

If you wish to cancel, contact us directly at admin@blakmint.co.uk.

18. Refused deliveries

If you refuse delivery because the parcel is visibly damaged, please contact us promptly and explain the reason.

If a parcel is refused for a reason unrelated to damage, fault or a valid cancellation, it may be treated as an uncollected or returned parcel.

Any refund or redelivery will be handled in accordance with our Returns and Refund Policy and your statutory rights.

19. Returned-to-sender orders

A parcel may be returned to Blakmint because:

  • the address was incorrect;
  • the address was incomplete;
  • the recipient was unknown;
  • delivery was refused;
  • the parcel was not collected;
  • access to the property was not possible; or
  • Royal Mail could not complete delivery.

We will contact you once the parcel has been received and checked.

Where the delivery failure was caused by information supplied by the customer, we may require payment of a reasonable redelivery charge.

Where the failure was caused by Blakmint or Royal Mail, we will provide an appropriate replacement or refund without charging additional postage.

20. Split deliveries

Where an order contains several products, we may occasionally send them in separate parcels.

You will not be charged additional delivery fees unless this was expressly agreed before the order was placed.

Where parcels are sent separately, each parcel may have its own delivery reference.

21. Delivery to businesses or shared buildings

Where delivery is made to:

  • an office;
  • reception desk;
  • concierge;
  • mail room;
  • accommodation reception;
  • shared building; or
  • another authorised person at the delivery address,

delivery may be treated as completed when the parcel is accepted by that person on your behalf.

You are responsible for checking internal reception, mail-room or concierge arrangements.

22. Events outside our reasonable control

Delivery may be affected by events outside our reasonable control, including:

  • severe weather;
  • fire;
  • flooding;
  • transport disruption;
  • Royal Mail service disruption;
  • industrial action;
  • public-health emergencies;
  • cyber incidents;
  • government action; or
  • significant supply-chain disruption.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and will contact affected customers where appropriate.

This section does not remove any statutory right to cancel or receive a refund where the legal requirements are met.

23. Changes to delivery services

We may change the delivery service used where reasonably necessary, provided that the alternative offers a substantially similar or better service and does not materially disadvantage you.

For example, we may use another tracked Royal Mail service where Tracked 48 is temporarily unavailable.

We will not downgrade a paid guaranteed service without your agreement.
